Questions and Answers:

What's your favourite genre of music?
Well, for such a young man, I am a bit of an old soul. I definitely like anything 80s or 90s, especially Britpop. However, I think my absolute favourite has to be 00s rock, nothing beats a bit of loud drumming and all the electric guitars of Busted and the like!

When you're not at Epsom Hospital Radio, what are you doing?
I’m actually doing a fair amount! My main job revolves around communications and marketing for an educational book supplier (not exactly rockstar) I do however have a couple other roles away from that too. I freelance for a Football League website, writing articles about AFC Wimbledon, and talking of the Wombles, I am a volunteer on their media team.
Going away from anything work related, you can usually find me spending a lot of time with girlfriend. We usually get up to some roadtripping and exploring around the South East, and we also love to cook up a storm in the kitchen!

If you had £1,000,000 to spend on yourself and no-one else what would you spend it on?
Well it’s a question of what I’d find more entertaining! I’d either put it all in on a brand new supercar that I’d drive around extremely delicately, but also a little quickly from time to time. Or I’d buy A LOT of those rubbish old lemons that you see on car auction websites, and just plough my monies into all of them, because you just can’t beat doing up a classic banger!

What is your ideal holiday destination?
Oh now this is the most difficult question yet! I’ve got to decide between Greece and Italy here…I think I’ll have to choose Greece, just! Food, great. Booze, cheap. Cats a plenty roaming the street and the people of Greece are just the loveliest ever, so so welcoming. My most recent trip was only in the last half of 2024, and I’m already itching to go back.

What is your favourite film?
Now a much easier question! Layer Cake from 2004, a classic gangster film. Pre-bond Daniel Craig is just great and Colm Meaney is one of my favourite actors, put the two together in a film directed by Matthew Vaughn and you have a masterpiece.

What is your favourite TV programme?
Can’t really answer this question, I’m so modern that I don’t really watch it! Match of the Day is probably the current favourite, but Top Gear with Clarkson, Hammond and May is also up there.

Who is your favourite comedian?
Peter Kay, plain and simple. Northern humour cannot be beaten.

Who is your favourite sports team/star?
I’ve already mentioned that I write about AFC Wimbledon, but I also support the Dons too, and have been a season ticket holder since 2015. It is not always an easy ride with the team, but what would football be without a bit of entertainment!
Favourite sports star you say? Lewis Hamilton. The man is a legend of motorsport and ever since first seeing him in 2008 when he won that first championship, I’ve just been in awe of him.

What is your favourite drink?
I’m quite an easy goer, there are not many I dislike! If it’s in a pub over here, I’m a sucker for a nice pale ale or porter, London Black and Hawkstone are particular favourites (expensive taste I know!) Abroad, nothing beats an Aperol Spritz in the sunshine!

What is your favourite food?
Well I’m a bit of a food fanatic and love to cook, so there has been a fair amount of thought put into this! I’m going to plump for Birria Tacos, they were delicious when I made them at home for me and my girlfriend, and we can’t wait to sample the real thing in Mexico one day!

What inspires you?
Not necessarily what, but more who. Those closest to my heart, the people I love, they are the people who inspire me to do my best each and every day, even at the hardest times.

Middle name?
John.

Star  sign?
Capricorn.

Weird & wonderful talents?
Unfortunately not, nothing really comes to mind.

Most treasured belongings?
My match-prepared Wimbledon FC shirt with Vinnie Jones and his squad number on the back. May have paid a little too much for it (I’m not disclosing that here!), but it’s treasured and only bought out for one certain match a season, those who know, know.

Favourite smell?
Freshly baked bread, or a bakery that has just opened it’s doors for the day.

What was the Number 1 single on the day you were born?
I Gotta Get Thru This by Daniel Bedingfield. I’m told it was playing in the room at the time I came into the world!

What record drives you mad when you hear it?
I’ve got a very random top 3, and they’re just songs that not exactly drive me mad, just make me want to listen to silence instead. Dance Monkey by Tones and I, Stick Season by Noah Kahan and finally 7 Seconds by Youssou N’Dour and Neneh Cherry.

What is your favourite album?
I’ve Been Expecting You by Robbie Williams, multiple masterpieces on there, but to be honest, any of his early solo work could have been my favourite. Honourable mentions go to Escapology and Sing When You’re Winning.

Have you met anyone famous and if so, under what circumstances?
If you enjoy watching any sport programmes, then you’ll know the likes of Jason Mohammed and Dan Walker, both of whom I passed and spoke to briefly when at university in Salford, as my campus was in MediaCity. If you’re not a big sports person, then I’ll say Sean Ryder, in the exact same circumstances as the others.

Who is your favourite radio presenter?
The late, great Steve Wright will always remain my favourite forever, but to keep it current, I’ll go with Colin Murray, football songbook is a genius show.

Apart from your current partner, who would be your ideal dinner date and why?
Clive Myrie. I’m a budding young journalist and to me, he is an inspiration and someone I’d just like sit and talk to all about the world and what goes on within it.

If you were marooned on a desert island, what would be the items you'd need most?
I can leave the phone behind, despite being a young lad! I think I’d like a CD player with my girlfriend’s CD collection along with it (believe me, it’s HUGE!), then simply some sort of grill setup, I could have BBQs and banging tunes for life!
